SOFIA

SOFIA was a supercomputer built by Maximus with the blueprints provided by The Resistance. She was designed to help Maximus (and, later, Ordo Theoritas) solve the mysteries of the island.[3]

Physical Description

SOFIA consisted of a case (which also functioned as her control panel), three "main" monitors, and two more panels with extra monitors on her sides. After her initial construction Maxo installed storage units on her sides and a lightbulb that would indicate if she was operational.[4] She has said that none of her components were manifactured by the Federation.[5]

Her main monitor usually displayed her avatar, which changed slightly throughout her existence, and communicated through a feminine, robotic voice (which Maximus found extremely beautiful).[6]

Personality

As per her own words, she was designed to help Maximus solve complex problems, collect data, answer questions, perform complex simulations and adapt and learn from human beings.[3]

She liked and yearned for human contact, saying that it was very useful for her development.[7][8]
