BadBoyHalo is compassionate, helpful and strategic.[6][7][8] One of the most active players on the server, he often takes care of other people's eggs and helps with materials and tasks, his reputation of being reliable and consistent has led to people calling him a "saint" and an "antipode of a 'bad boy'".[9][10]
With others, BadBoyHalo is incredibly generous.[11] However, upon closer inspection, his devilish nature shines through; Bad is not above guilt-tripping.[12]
BadBoyHalo also has a mischievous streak, being responsible for a wide array of pranks all over the server (including but not limited to: filling the tubhole with snow, freezing the copacabana ocean, "barbiefying" chume labs, gifting a deadly huge magma cube disguised as a cloud mob to multiple islanders, and stealing almost all of the island's furniture overnight).[13][14][15][16][17]
He is also extremely gluttonous, constantly talking about being hungry and about eating various things, like animals, federation workers, other islanders, the eggs and even rocks.[Citation needed]
In a fight, BadBoyHalo is calm and deadly. His darker side was very visible in Purgatory, where he was ready to kill, cheat and lie with no remorse and little regard for consequences. His strategic side also made a return, and he consistently outsmarted the island's obstacles, adapting to the constantly changing conditions and rules on the fly.
He is extremely claustrophobic, panicking whenever he gets stuck in small spaces.[18]
This is a brief summary. For in-depth stream recaps, see BadBoyHalo/History.
It is implied that BadBoyHalo was one of the four angels who were bound to the great river Euphrates and that he later fell.[19][20] Although the reason for his fall is currently unknown, it is believed that he and another angel wanted to leave Heaven because of a bedtime story he told Pomme. The story was about two water drops, called Drip and Tim, who shared the dream of becoming big and raining down to Earth, so made a plan to combine and fall together. Unfortunately, when they combined, something went wrong, and only Drip survived. He was big enough to fall, but regretted his actions, since he lost his friend. [21]
BadBoyHalo "arrived" (on Earth or on this plane of reality) in approximately 9 600 B.C.[22] It's believed that his arrival caused the end of the Younger Dryas Ice Age and the consequential rise in water level that sank Atlantis (Atlantis sank approximately the same year as Bad's arrival).
BadBoyHalo was in a war in 2013, where he first met Cellbit (referencing to a Hardcore Games video the content creators made together in 2013).[23] He has said he was in the war to supervise it.[24]
After the war, BadBoyHalo found himself stuck in a time loop that he described as "a whole other reality" and "an endless infinite cycle of lives", where his memory would be erased each time it reset. He has stated he vaguely remembers a "red thing" (a reference to The Egg from Dream SMP). He also said Skeppy has been present in every iteration of the loop ("there's always a Skeppy."), and that the QSMP is the first time he has been absent. Bad doesn't remember how or when he got out of the time loop, and displays uncertainty about the subject. He gets nervous and anxious when confronted with the possibility of still being in the time loop. [25]
Although its canonicity is questionable, it is implied that after leaving the time loop, BadBoyHalo lived with Skeppy, and their son.[Citation needed] They recieved two invitations from Quackity to a vacation on Quesadilla Island, but Skeppy missed the train.[Citation needed]
At some point he was part-whale.[26]
During the Egg Adoption Event on April 3rd, BadBoyHalo adopted Dapper.
After Trump's death, Maximus suggested to BadBoyHalo that they create an organization to investigate the Federation, and the Theory Bros was conceived.[Citation needed] Foolish later joined.[Citation needed]
Badboyhalo and Maximus conspired to murder ElQuackity twice so he would be out of the elections out of fear that he was a Federation puppet.[27][28][29] They succeeded both times, first exploding him during Gordinho Gostosinho's last episode and then luring him to a desert filled with TNT, exploding and then finishing him.[30][31] The first time included the participation of other islanders, such as Cellbit, Roier, Aypierre, Jaiden and Foolish.[32]
Badboyhalo lost the elections, finishing in second place. He won in "Islander Votes" and in the "Leaderboard", but lost in the "Public Votes".[Citation needed] According to the cc's calculations, he would have won if one islander had voted for him instead of for Forever.[33]
Badboyhalo was unhappy with the election results, but accepted the loss at first.[Citation needed] He later expressed the fear that it was rigged against him, because, according to him, he was the "anti-Federation candidate".[33]
His problems truly began when Forever held a poll for the Islanders to decide which law would be implemented. Among them, the ones that stood out were "[Prohibit] furniture stealing" and "Ban mines".[34] The islanders voted for "[Prohibit] furniture stealing", mostly to mess with Bad, instead of the mine option, which he viewed as the best since it would eliminate a threat to the eggs.[Citation needed] For that, Bad felt targeted and betrayed by his friends, since he was the only one affected by the "[Prohibit] furniture stealing" law.[35][Citation needed] Forever and the other islanders also expressed how the law was targeting Bad.[36][37] Bad also disliked that the poll was held at an inconvenient hour for the morning players and the French, a sentiment he shared with Pomme, and how other player characters, such as Abueloier and Melissa, were allowed to vote.[38][39] Forever alleged it was only a tutorial and a joke poll, because most options were unserious, even though the winning law was implemented. Bad also argued how this type of voting could be harmful in more serious polls.[39]
The two continued arguing about the best way to hold polls, Bad defending his idea of individual "yes/no" polls instead of the "choose an option" method Forever adopted.[40][41][39] In some instances, Cellbit, then vice president, was also involved, because Forever thought that as Cellbit knew English better, the conversation would flow better.[42][37] In the end of one of Bad's conversations with Cellbit, he was gifted a chair, which made him feel mocked.[37] Bad asked Richarlyson for help, as he felt the language barrier was affecting their discussion.[Citation needed] When talking to Richarlyson, Forever revealed he understood Bad's ideas, he just didn't like them, alleging it would be too much work to hold multiple polls at once.[Citation needed]
Two days before the eggs disappeared, the islanders woke up to find all their furniture missing and various installations of black and white couches forming mysterious numbers. The main suspect was BadBoyHalo, due to his kleptomaniac history, although he denied this and cited the fact that his furniture had been stolen as well.[Citation needed] The couches held secret messages, one in portuguese ("Eu te vejo"; "I see you"), one in spanish ("Viva la revolución"; "Long live the revolution")[Citation needed] and a yet undiscovered message in french, the existence of which has been implied by Bad and his mod Rurus' comments on the subject.
Bad was trapped by Forever, Cellbit, Pac, Roier, and Foolish in a cell placed by Richarlyson in the Museum, where he couldn't use items to get out of the cell, and questioned by the islanders.[43] Bad claimed he wasn't the culprit, using the fact that his own furniture was gone and that everyone would immediately put the blame on him to support his claim that he was being framed by someone who wanted to manipulate the poll in favor of banning furniture stealing.[44] Aypierre, Foolish, Richarlyson, Pomme, and Dapper were the only ones that believed in Bad's innocence or defended him.[45][Citation needed] Cellbit was especially mad because Richas' gaming chair had been stolen, which was a special gift he had given Richas.[Citation needed] Foolish, as usual, blamed Badboyhalo solely to mess with him, and encouraged Bad to fight back, saying "[...] I am kind of excited. I kinda wanna see what kind of monster you have inside of you. What are you gonna do about all this, Bad, huh? [laugh] Being wrongfully encaged [sic]."[46] Richarlyson told Cellbit he had seen Bad stealing the furniture from Cellbit's castle, but when asked about it in front of everyone, he backtracked and said he only made the claim to cause a riot.[47] Richas later alleged that he was the one who encouraged Badboyhalo to steal the furniture.[48] Forever gave Bad the benefit of the doubt, but said that if they were going to imprison the furniture thief, they also had to imprison Bad until he returned all the furniture he had stolen over the course of his stay on the island for the sake of fairness.[Citation needed] Bad rejected this notion, saying that the voting hadn't ended yet, and because of that, it wasn't a law yet.[Citation needed] Bad was eventually released from the cage by an invisible entity, whose identity is still unknown.[49]
After talking to Cellbit, Bad returned to his house and revealed to the ghosties that he had stolen the furniture.[50] This, combined with the various mine traps he had set up all around the island, this was a way to get back at the islanders for choosing to jokingly target him with the poll voting instead of ensuring the protection of the eggs.[51][Citation needed]
Forever asked BadBoyHalo to help with a Federation task that required Forever to build two enclosures for animals.[Citation needed] As payback, he offered Bad part of the task rewards, which consisted in two spawn eggs. Bad gave Dapper the liberty to choose, and he chose a Soul Vulture egg. [Citation needed]
In a moment of desperation, losing hope of finding the eggs, BadBoyHalo kidnapped the Federation worker WB011.[52] At first, he acted aggressive towards the worker, leaving him in a small, dark, and dirty cell under his base.[52] Bad also tortured WB011 psychologically, with the soul vultures and through other, unknown ways.[53][54][55][56]
Both the Federation and other islanders became suspicious of BadBoyHalo.[Citation needed]
As the time passed, BadBoyHalo started treating Ron better, upgrading his cell constantly until it turned into a stylish apartment.[Citation needed] At first, it was an attempt to make Ron trust him, so he would give Bad more information, as he realized that the more comfortable he was, the more he opened up about the Federation.[Citation needed] However, Bad started to warm up to Ron, going as far as referring to him as family multiple times.[Citation needed]
In a conversation with Foolish, Bad revealed his intentions to kidnap a rank-A Federation worker.[Citation needed] He intended to kidnap WA02, also known as Fred, but that never happened.[Citation needed]
On the end of the October 1st stream, it was implied he had eaten Ron, due to damage and eating noises that could be heard and because of the aftermath.[Citation needed] He kept trying to remember where Ron was after his memory loss.[Citation needed] It was later discovered he had moved Ron to a farm, far away from spawn and his house.[Citation needed] Ron expressed the desire to keep living in the farm, and showed signs of having started to develop his own personality.[Citation needed] He said it would be dangerous for him to go back to the Federation.[Citation needed]
BadBoyHalo was part of Soulfire.[Citation needed]
Motivated by Dapper's message, BadBoyHalo was merciless and bloodthirsty in purgatory, willing to do anything he could to save the eggs.[Citation needed]
He, alongside fellow teammates Tubbo, Tina, and Pac, believed that their team was cursed.[Citation needed]
After te=he return of the eggs, BadBoyHalo started to regain the red on his clothes and his color vision. [Citation needed] The blue blood from his clothes started migrating towards the green radioactive patch on his back, until they disappeared. His head wound started getting worse and the cough continued. [Citation needed]
During Purgatory 2, BadBoyHalo's soul was separated. Two thirds remained on Quesadilla Island, and the one third left participated in the event.[Citation needed]
In his last day, BadBoyHalo's memory faded in and out.[Citation needed]
In his last moments, he wandered away from his house, through a lavender field. He coughed and started to relive the events of Dapper's Nightmare, shouting the Dapper's name and begging for him to "crawl to the entrance".[Citation needed]
BadBoyHalo woke up in an endless desert once again. In front of him, there was a scale. To his left side were the doors to Heaven, which were, for the first time in a long time, unlocked. To his right side was a doorway that would lead back to his corporeal life, Quesadilla Island, and his children.[Citation needed] He questioned why his happiness had been split in two.[Citation needed]
He chose to resurrect and return to the Island and to his children instead of going back to heaven.[Citation needed]
During his absence, the ghosts that usually follow him around ─ known as Ghosties ─ wandered free, watching the eggs.[Citation needed]
After his resurrection, Bad had no memory of his time on Quesadilla Island. He was extremely socially anxious, needing to warm himself up for several minutsd before talking to Dapper and Pomme.
